Point Hope New Restaurants: What's Open Near Clements Ferry Road

October 8, 2026

Over the past year, Point Hope's businesses have opened in the same order they were announced. The dates are another story. Food and drink on Foundation Street came first. Neighborhood services at Goddard Point Hope are next. The coffeehouse and restaurant planned for the new LC Point Hope community come last. That order has held all year. The opening dates attached to it have not. Almost every one has moved back by a season or more since spring.

In practice, a "coming soon" sign at Point Hope tells you a business is in line. It doesn't tell you when the doors open. That's useful to know whether you're planning a Friday dinner off Clements Ferry Road or waiting for a closer pharmacy run.

Foundation Street Is Already Working

The open list is longer than you might guess from all the construction fencing.

  • Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe at 832 Foundation St. was open by early May 2026 and held its ribbon cutting on May 11.
  • King's Leaf is a cigar lounge at 826 Foundation St. that added a wine bar this summer. By late July it was promoting Thursday wine flights and discounts.
  • ATI Physical Therapy was listed as open at Goddard in Point Hope's May business update.
  • Doolittle Park opened to residents by late July. It has two pools, six pickleball courts, tennis and basketball courts, and a pavilion.
  • A short drive down the corridor, Pizza A Modo Mio opened at 1937 Clements Ferry Road in February 2026.

Put together, that's dessert, a glass of wine, physical therapy, and a weekend pool without crossing the Wando or heading onto I-526. A year ago the commercial core was mostly plans. Now it covers a full evening out, and the next group of openings adds a sit-down dinner.

October's Three Openings, and Why Their Dates Keep Moving

Three businesses are close enough to open that you can see the progress through the windows. As of today, October 4, none of the three has publicly confirmed an opening.

Hachiya Ramen is heading to Goddard Point Hope at 654 Hopewell Drive. The menu will include ramen, gyoza, and other Japanese dishes. Its Mount Pleasant restaurant is known for traditional slow-cooked broths and fast-casual ordering. In May, Point Hope expected it "later this summer." By late August, Fritz Meyer of Meyer Kapp & Associates told The Daniel Island News that the target was September or October. His firm handles leasing for much of Point Hope.

Philosophia shows the same pattern most clearly. This Greek and Mediterranean restaurant is known for spanakopita, Greek salads, local fish, roasted chicken, and braised lamb. The Point Hope spot on Foundation Street will be its second location. The first is at 976 Houston Northcutt Blvd. in Mount Pleasant. An earlier Post and Courier report gave the Point Hope target as February 2026. In August the target was September or October. On September 4, co-owner Dimitri Hatgidimitriou gave WhatNow the latest version:

"We're looking at a mid-October opening. We're very excited to get open."

Integr8 Pilates is going into Point Hope Commons. Instructor Sobia Nathani founded the full-apparatus studio. It plans small-group reformer and tower classes, cardio sculpt, strength-focused classes, restorative movement, and private sessions. In August it was working toward a September opening. Its own site now says "Opening October 2026." The booking page says "Online booking is almost here" and that full booking goes live when the studio opens.

None of this means anyone is behind in a way worth worrying about. Building out a new space takes as long as it takes, and these three are clearly in the last stretch. The useful habit is reading each new date as the earliest likely opening. For October, that points to the second half of the month at the soonest. Philosophia's own timing suggests a Greek dinner on Foundation Street is closer than the ramen bowl.

The List After This One

The order holds past October too. Every 2027 and 2028 name in The Daniel Island News's August update sits behind the restaurants. Several of them have already moved back once.

Early 2027: errands and treats

Construction was about to begin in August on Penny's Pawlour & Bowtique, a pet boutique and grooming business, and on The UPS Store, both at Goddard Point Hope. Both are now expected in the first quarter of 2027. In May, Point Hope had listed both for "later this year." Kilwins Ice Cream is headed to Publix Commons with its ice cream, chocolates, fudge, and caramel apples. No official date is set, and Meyer says early 2027 is the current expectation.

Mid-2027: healthcare and Brooking Square

Bon Secours Mercy Health is now expected at The Gates in the second quarter of 2027. In May it was another "later this year" listing. Brooking Square, a Woodfield Development property, was nearing completion in August. Allstate Insurance and Wando Veterinarian Hospital are among the first businesses named for it.

Around 2028: the LC Point Hope additions

The last group is tied to LC Point Hope, a 450-home community now under construction. Its plans include The Goat, a restaurant and bar, Morning Ritual, a coffeehouse serving coffee and breakfast, and CODE Wellness, a fitness and wellness concept. All three are expected around the first quarter of 2028. Of everything on the list, that date is the furthest out and the most likely to move.

The Roads Are on the Same Kind of Schedule

Getting to all of this means driving Clements Ferry Road, and road projects have followed the same pattern as the storefronts.

In April, The Daniel Island News reported that a trail from I-526 to the end of Clements Ferry Road was "just months away." Berkeley County's July 13 program update was more specific. It projected that construction on the Clements Ferry Road Phase 1 Multi-Use Path would start in the fourth quarter of 2026, with construction documents still under SCDOT review. That puts any groundbreaking somewhere in the next few months, not something already happening.

The same April report named the next Clements Ferry traffic signals in the pipeline. They are at Cooper Towne Road, at 2620 Clements Ferry Road, and at Beresford Run.

Highway 41 has moved in the same direction. In March, Live 5 reported that the widening was planned to begin construction by the end of 2026. On July 15, Mount Pleasant Town Council voted 5–4 to grant municipal consent. Live 5 reported that the county then hoped to break ground at the start of 2027.

Cainhoy Road is the exception, because that work is already finished. Live 5 reported in January that SCDOT had completed two contracts there. The first widened shoulders and added safety improvements on about five miles from Clements Ferry Road toward Charity Church Road. The second covered about eight miles from Charity Church Road to SC 41. SCDOT said it knew of no more planned work on that corridor.

So from here into next spring, the likely order is new restaurants on Foundation Street first, then the start of path construction, then the Highway 41 groundbreaking, then the 2027 storefronts at Goddard and The Gates. If you're planning around any of them, use each one's latest target date as the earliest it could happen.
